The Meander Valley

Deloraine (pop approx 2100) is midway between Launceston and Devonport on the Bass Highway. Deloraine sits at the foothills of the Great Western Tiers. Deloraine is a pretty riverside town as the Meander River runs right through the heart of town. The charming buildings of the 1830's and 1840's now house galleries, restaurants and studios and is surrounded by classic "English - style" countryside and rolling greenhills.

Deloraine is Tasmania's largest inland town. It's magnificent scenery, clean environment and closeness to many of Tasmania's most exciting places make it a must see for any visitor. Mole Creek (pop approx 300) is a picturesque farming area approx 25klm from Deloraine. Mole Creek is the gateway to Cradle Mountain and The Great Western Tiers rises in the background

Westbury (pop approx 1300) 34klm from Launceston, 17klm from Deloraine, is an attractive town renowned for its English country character, unique village green, hawthorn hedges and historic buildings.
